Microglia are non-neural cells that play key roles in central nervous system development and disease. We are interested in knowing more about these cells and how they sculpt neural circuits in the developing retina and whether they play a role in retinal regeneration. These cells are typically not present in retinal organoids, and some of the processes that they regulate in vivo may not be accurately recapitulated in vitro.
